  2. The Local League Coordinator forwards the grievance to the appropriate Grievance Committee chairperson.
  3. The Grievance Committee’s chairperson notifies all parties involved (captains, etc.).
  4. The Grievance Committee’s chairperson calls a meeting of committee and invites the parties involved.
  5. The Grievance Committee listens to both sides.
  6. The Grievance Committee makes a decision.
  7. The Grievance Committee’s chairperson mails the decision to all parties involved.
  8. The appeal is dropped or you may appeal the decision to Appeals Committee.

Grievance Appeals Process

If the Grievance Committee held a hearing, the Appeals Committee will not hear your grievance. You are allowed only one hearing.

A hearing is where the parties appear in person before a committee. If you appeared in person before the Grievance Committee, you cannot request a hearing with the Appeals Committee. The Appeals Committee instead reviews any documents and the Grievance Committee’s findings, and makes a decision. If the Grievance Committee did not hold a hearing, either party may request one with the Appeals Committee.

The Appeals Committee can uphold or overturn the Grievance Committee’s decision.

If the Appeals Committee upholds the Grievance Committee’s decision, your case is dropped. You have no recourse but to accept the decision.
