CSRATA FLEX LEAGUE RULES AND GUIDELINES

·         Players must be USTA members and register on TennisLink. Each player will create a team and be the only player and captain of the team. Please indicate captain and be sure to enter your current phone number when registering to make your contact information available to the other players in your flight.

·         Players must be age 19 or over in this calendar year and willing to play the league within the defined CSRATA area.

·         Rules of Tennis and The Code for un-officiated matches apply.

·         Players with current NTRP Ratings in Tennis Link must use that rating. Players without ratings must self-rate according to the NTRP guidelines. The Flex League is a recreational league, and match results do not affect NTRP ratings.

·         This league does not accept NTRP related grievances. Players are expected to exercise the highest level of integrity while competing in this program.

·         Scoring format is best 2 of 3 sets with a 10-point match tiebreaker played in lieu of a third set and scored as 1-0. If both players agree, the third set may be played out, but will be scored as 1-0.

·         Each Flex League will have between 4 and 8 players. Levels within a division with more than 8 entries will be divided into flights with a single elimination playoff between flight winners. Players in levels with fewer than 4 entries will have the option of moving up to the next level if eligible.

·         Players schedule and play matches anytime before and up to one week (7days) after the “play by” date. ALL matches must be completed and scores posted by the last day of the season. Matches do not have to be played in the order scheduled as long as they are completed by the individual match deadline.

·         The home player is responsible for initial contact to schedule the match.  This does not preclude the visiting player from making contact first.

·         The date, time, and location of the match must be agreed upon by both players. Within 24 hours of the agreed match time, the player unable to play will default the match unless the player receiving the default prefers to reschedule the match.

·         Defaults can greatly impact standings in many ways but are sometimes unavoidable. Defaults will be scored as a 6-0, 6-0 win for player receiving the default. Excessive defaults by players who do not withdraw will be monitored for future seasons.

·         If a match is rained out, it should be rescheduled and completed as soon as possible.

·         If a player does not arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time, that player will default the match unless the opponent agrees to extend the time or reschedule the match.

·         Coupons will be issued for court fees or guest fees of home matches at participating facilities (Some private facilities may not have sufficient court time to participate) If a coupon is not presented at the time of the match or an independent or alternate location is agreed to by both players, the “home” player will be responsible for any fees.

·         Players listed as “home” will provide the balls and reserve the courts for their home matches. Players designating a facility as “home” must meet the facility membership requirements and abide by the court utilization and guest policies if permitted to schedule matches there.

·         In the event that a player must withdraw from the flex league prior to completing the schedule, the player should notify opponents in matches that have not been played.

·         No refunds will be issued once the schedules have been posted.

·         Awards will be presented to flight winners and local champions.

·         In the event of a tie, head to head competition will determine the winner followed by
% of sets won and then % of games won.
